Every day, before my art class began, I would try to organize my teeny tiny desk as best as possible, to make it as welcoming as possible for students to grab what they needed to create their masterpieces. While my desk/class material station situation was less-than-ideal during this practicum, it became a sort of a “learning commons” space where students could strike up a small conversation with me while I was doing prep work, or come forward with their questions or neat ideas. I learned to love this little chaotic desk, and cannot wait until this little space of mine is one day a classroom for students and I to constantly collaborate and communicate.
